The National Committee of Women for Democratic Iran is a non-profit organization formed to fill the vacuum of a women’s organization devoted specifically to monitoring women’s rights in Iran. Our tasks range from accurate reporting, to public appearances, to engaging in discussion and exchange with relevant authoritative bodies and institutes. Our activities follow these objectives: To inform the public and human rights community of the deplorable abuse of the rights of Iranian women under the mullah’s regime. To advocate observance and implementation of internationally accepted standards of human rights, in particular those pertaining to women, by disseminating information to interested individuals and groups. To heighten the awareness of Iranian women of their inviolable rights, as guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international covenants.
